Carpentry services on the Northern Beaches
Carpentry is the trade the rest of the house hangs off. Our leading hand, Daniel Metcalfe, has 15 years as a carpenter in residential construction, and Brent Gold has been on the tools with us since day one. The finish on our projects comes from people who care about a tight joint.

What we do
Structural carpentry and framing
Wall, floor and roof framing for extensions, additions and new homes, including the new floor structure on a top storey addition.
Wall panelling and wainscoting
Traditional wainscoting and decorative panelling. At Concord it runs on every wall of the house.
Custom joinery and built-ins
Cabinetry, shelving, window seats and bespoke furniture made for the opening it goes into, as at Balmoral.
Doors, architraves and fit-off
Hanging doors, skirting, architraves and the second-fix work that decides whether a room looks finished.
The difference one team makes.
Our carpenters work for Amity on Amity jobs. That is why the panelling lines up with the window head and the skirting meets the joinery cleanly: the same people set it out and finish it.
You get a complete itemised price before the job starts, a flexible pricing structure, one site supervisor who is on your job, a published programme with weekly reporting, and a defects walk with a twelve month check after you move in.

Concord: Full renovation and extension
Full renovation and extension
A beautifully hand-pieced renovation, Concord involved a full internal renovation, external extension, and new outdoor area. With traditional wainscoting on every wall, this project featured details upon details. The end result: a luxury custom home, finished to the highest standard and tailored precisely to the client's needs.

“I recently had the pleasure of meeting Jared and his team, who completed some panelling as part of a renovation, and I could not be happier with how it turned out. From start to finish, the team demonstrated professionalism, skill, and a true passion for their work.”
Questions we get asked
Is the carpentry done by your own team?
Yes. Our foreman, leading hand and carpenters are part of the Amity team, and they do the carpentry on our projects. Specialist trades such as plumbing and electrical come from a close circle we have worked with for years.
Do you build decks on the Northern Beaches?
Yes. Decks, stairs and pergolas, detailed for salt air with the right timber, fixings and clearances. A deck that needs approval goes through the same DA or CDC process as any other structure.
Can you match existing panelling or mouldings in an older house?
Usually. We profile what is there and either source a matching moulding or have one made, so new work reads as part of the original house.
Do you install joinery made by others?
Our preference is to design and build the joinery as part of the project, so it fits the opening exactly. Call us to talk about what you have in mind.
